About Us

Joseph Serpentino, 1962

For over thirty-five years, Serpentino Stained Glass has worked to build its reputation for unsurpassed excellence in stained glass restoration. The highly skilled and knowledgeable craftsmen attend to every window with the utmost care, ensuring that every piece of glass is catalogued, protected, conserved, and restored to the highest standards.

Their passion for work by artists such as Tiffany and La Farge account for their unsurpassed skill at restoring these priceless artifacts. They have conserved, restored, and repaired these works with nothing less than mastery of the techniques used to create the originals.

In depth knowledge of the craft from the techniques of the middle ages through the latest technologies and materials enables Serpentino to accurately quote on restoration work. The staff works closely with clients, educating them to the condition, history, and progress on their windows throughout the project. The Serpentino promise is to provide an honest evaluation of the condition of windows, provide prompt, professional, reliable service, and deliver impeccable results not only in the workmanship on the windows, but also in the detailed documentation of the project.

Choosing a restoration studio

Knowing how to evaluate a restoration studio requires knowing a lot about the windows in need of restoration. Clients rarely have the depth of knowledge needed to determine what makes one studio better suited to a project than another. Serpentino staff make it part of their mission to educate the client to the value and condition of their windows, explaining techniques and processes in understandable language.

Oftentimes, Serpentino is recommended to owners by their architects, stained glass consultants, or historical societies. Their knowledge of stained glass history, materials, and techniques sets them apart from contemporary stained glass studios in executing the restoration of priceless historic windows.
